The Cambridge School Committee is a seven member board. Six members are elected at large. The Mayor, who is elected from and by the nine elected City Council Members, serves as Chair of the School Committee. The School Committee determines overall School Department policy and budget.
Meeting Schedule
In accordance with the Rules of the School Committee, Chapter I, Section 2, Regular Meetings. "The regular meetings of the School Committee shall be held on the first and third Tuesday evenings at 6:00 o’clock during the months of September through June; and Section 3.1, Hearings. "The second Tuesday of each month, during the months of September through June, shall be set aside for hearings required by law or as the Superintendent and School Committee jointly deem advisable.”

The School Committee meets in the Sullivan Chamber, City Hall, 795 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge. All meetings are open to the public.
Cambridge School Committee Meetings are broadcast over Channel 99. Re-broadcasts are on Channel 99: Tues, Thurs. and Sat. at 6PM; Wed, Fri. and Sun. at 10AM.
